Music with Kira
My Story
I grew up playing flute and went to college as a music major. In my mid-twenties, while living and performing in NYC, I discovered a music school teaching strings to very young children and I was amazed and excited. I became the music theory teacher for the younger kids and eventually created an early childhood Parent and Me program for babies and toddlers. It has been over 20 years since I first began teaching. I am married with children of my own and my passion and love for music and music education is as strong as ever.
Teacher Workshops
Music for Classroom Teachers
Kira believes music to be an essential part of a young child's day. She leads engaging, fun and productive workshops for classroom teachers on the use of music throughout their days. Kira's workshops focus especially on making literature musical and give teachers ideas for using instruments, puppets and movement to extend storytime.
